Mommy, I'm sorry you didn't have a great day yesterday. Just remember, you've always got me in your belly, so how bad can it be, really? Plus, next year I'll get to dress up in a silly costume (even though I won't want to) and you can take all kinds of silly pictures of me looking confused. It'll be great!
It's nice to be back in the office again, I like to get stuff done with you. Maybe one of these days I'll go to work with Daddy!

Kickin' it!

That's right, I'm kicking and punching mommy as much as I want to! It's getting real tight in here.
So I've had an epiphany of sorts. That's right - a revelation you might say. As you may be aware, I've been somewhat...resistant...to the idea that I would eventually have to leave this home of mine here in mommy's tummy. Well, after a long talk with placenta, I've come to the realization that I must leave this place at some point and that point is fast approaching. I haven't even begun packing yet! So I'll be very busy tidying up, cleaning out my closet, doing a little dusting, just general clutterbustering. You know, pretty standard stuff.
Then, when I'm good and ready, I'll come out and check out my new digs!
I keep hearing these voices, so I'm real curious what these voices look like!

I like Philly!

It's real kewl...they serve really good fizzy cold drinks that make me feel fizzy. I also like dancing and walking through the heart and seeing that big clangy bell! And cole's pretty cool. when i come outta here, can we hang out and stuff? That would be real kewl...but Daddy wanted me to ask that if me and Cole end up talking and being good buddies, that people don't start laughing about what good friends we are and pointing at us! That's not kewl.

I'm looking real good...

I'm just hanging out, combing my hair, building some meconium and that white stuff that keeps my skin real soft...it's like a spa in here! Mommy, once I check out you should totally rent this space out - you'd make a mint! It's warm, soft, nourishing for skin and all this water is like totally cleaning my hair all the time!
I can't wait for the big party this weekend in Philly. I just hope they play some fallout boy.

Hiccup!

You keep saying that I'm bump-bumping, mommy...maybe I'm just hiccuping!
And I'm sorry that I'm making you so tired. It's because I'm such a big soldier and hauling me around everywhere is bound to do that! But guess what? You have 6 more weeks to go, and I'm not going anywhere! I'm like a little tick, burrowed inside of you, nourished from the warmth and the cord and the warmth. Feels real good.
Although I will say it's getting a little boring in here lately. I think I need to upgrade my living space, this studio apartment business is getting old! I need more space!

Dad's Bench is real kewl

it's this cool dark wood with real soft pillows on it, and it looks real kewl! I liked seeing his office and wandering around the hallways!
Dad also has a really kewl leaf blower...I sure hope he doesn't fire that thing up when I'm trying to sleep though! That would be a bad choice.
I like it when Mommy watches Dexter on TV. Her heart starts pumping loudly, and it sounds like the Sleep Sheep!

I likes to Party

That's right, everyone, I survived my first big party. I was pretty tired on Sunday after raging all night, but that's to be expected I guess. After all that fun, I'm looking forward to getting out into the real world and seeing what all these people look like! I also can't wait to meet cousin Jake. He sounds real kewl. I'm still resting today, occasionally kicking and poking...all in all, it was a great weekend for Smudge! Can't wait to wear my new sleep sacks and read the book about me.

I like scary movies!

It feels real good when mommy is watching a scary movie because she touches her tummy a lot and I can feel her heart racing and stuff! Plus the room is real dark, too.
I love my new bed, although I don't understand why I have 2 beds, for one little chubby tushy! I like my new changing table, too...it's real soft and fuzzy and feels real good.
I'm getting ready for my big party, it's gonna be real good. I like to party! And there better be some Fall Out Boy at the party for me to dance to!

It looked real gross, so when that happens could you guys just be a doll and clean it up and not wake me? Not kewl.

Ok, back to it...a smudge has to do what a smudge has to do!

So Busy!

I've got bump-bumping to do, then I need to finish building my brain, and don't EVEN start with me about all the food prep I have to do for my party! I mean, really, it's crazy. I have to get lights and lanterns and tables and coolers and food and drinks...you think it's easy planning a party from the womb? It ain't, trust me!!!
So EXCUSE ME if I haven't posted on my blog! I'm a very busy Smudge! But it will all be all right. Because parties are supposed to be fun!

That's real fun to watch Dad kick that ball and run around. i can't wait to play games with daddy! So last night I found this really cool pillow to lie on, it's weird every time I lay on it I can feel mommy get up and walk around and then sit down. But the pillow feels real good so I'm gonna keep on resting on it. Feels real good.
I'm excited to see Miami and get some sun this weekend. That's gonna feel real good. But I'll miss Daddy's voice. He's real cool.
Ok, back to it - I have a pressing eyelid-inspection meeting coming up that I need to prepare for.

Bump BUMP mommy!

maybe i just have the hiccups or something. Anyway, it's been a while since my last blog, probably because I've been real busy bumping and growing. I also found out that Daddy's work friend Brent is having a boy, so that was real kewl to know.
Also, Mommy I'm sorry I'm stretching you but you better get used to it because my crystal ball says that I'm going to be at least 8-9 pounds, and that's like 4 times bigger than I am now. You can blame daddy for that! He was a biggun' too, but don't forget that his favorite activity was to sleep...so a little pain now for a better nights sleep is probably worth it!
I really am getting a bit bored in here, I can't wait to meet you guys! I love my new bed (and I guess I'll let Jake sleep in it) and we're gonna have so much fun together in November.

Mommy, thanks for taking me to NYC for the weekend - I like hobnobbing with the NYC upper crust, but mostly I like the train. It's very soothing and I sure do sleep like a little champ!

It was a very tiring morning moving all around so that you couldn't see my dingus! Can't a smudge get some privacy? In like 4 months you'll see me all the time, so let a smudge sleep!

My mommy keeps embarrassing me! But I guess that's what mommies do. By the way, I love our new home, especially since my mommy keeps standing up all the time, which is nice. I plan to kick that bladder some more tomorrow! Daddy, I'm working on my leg kicks and sprawls, so hopefully you'll be feeling my awesome punching power soon!

I like to kick on that spongy thing near my feet. Because everytime I kick and lean on it, I can feel mommy get up and sit down again! It's really cool! I kick, she gets up. I kick, she gets up. I kick, she gets up. Sweet.
Also, I've been hearing this other voice a lot lately. Who's that? I'm not sure what the "galaxy" is, but anyway...it was a busy weekend around here! And tell Marky to pipe down, he's been waking me up with his meowing and yeowling.

It's a very rapid motion!

And some have even said it could be a notch below alarming...
Once it was rumored to be noticeable, the way a light breeze on a sunny day might feel.

I've heard people refer to it as 'dusty', 'drizzly' and even 'subtle'.
But don't be deceived, not for one single second - it's very rapid, quick, and fluttery!

And someday very soon, others will be able to feel it besides mommy! And when they do, it will be called thunderous, massive, seismic and even epic! AND it will be rapid!

Lamby!

The reason I kicked you mommy is that I want to play with Lamby now! It looks...or sounds...so soft! And I really enjoyed our nap on the back porch yesterday. That was really cool...although when you are napping, try to keep your mouth closed - it makes it sort of drafty down here!

My new neighborhood!

I can't wait to grow up in my new house! I am super excited! I enjoyed walking around today, checking out my new digs...my own personal bathroom where I will learn to poop and pee...my own bedroom where one day I will have a big-person bed...my own little playroom where all my toys will be kept...and my own secret entrance where I can sneak out of the house to play hooky and see boys/girls! It's gonna be SO kewl.

In other news, it's a shame I can't ever see the house where I was 'made'! But considering the funky smells, stinky rats, and messy neighborhood, it's probably for the best! I doubt mommy wants to schlep me up and down the stairs every time we go on a walk! That would be a pain, especially since I'll be such a biggun' and all.

It sure was noisy last night! What the heck was going on? Can't a smudge get some sleep? Also, I can't seem to find yolk sac. Have you seen him? He's been gone for a bit now...and he owes me some money.
Today it was a little bit hot in my home. Who knew DC was so hot? I'd like a little bellybutton window unit for my home in this nice warm, wet dark place. I like it warm, but not like 130 degrees in here!
Anyway, not too much else going on in here...I bet you'd like to know what my gender is, wouldn't you? Guess you'll have to wait!

Hey everybody! I'm gettin' bigger - arm buds are a poppin', eyes are a lookin' and my tummy's gettin' bigger! Mommy, I'm sorry that I'm taking up so much room, but it's only going to get worse from here on out! i'm setting a goal to weigh more than daddy when he was born, so get ready for 11 pounds of BB...and once I come out, I better get some food in my belly. Just like my brother Marky.
Last night when you were cleaning, I smelled this funny smell from outside and then I started to feel sorta buzzy in my head. What was that? It sure did smell weird, not like mommy's usual farts. Wonder what that was, brah...

Ok, so I took a little vacation from blogging for a while - things got a little hectic on the home front. I had to put an offer in on a new house, plus clean up the womb I'm in right now...it got a little stressful! But it's all good now, I'm on my way to a whole new Womb!

Things to think of when you get cranky

Dear mommy,
I love you and I want you to be a happy camper! Just remember, whenever you wake up cranky and daddy is singing nice songs to you, don't tell him to stop singing - tell him to sing louder, so I can hear it, too!
When he comes home and you tell him to pick up his clothes, first tell him you love him and THEN tell him to pick up his dirty clothes! (He's sorta messy sometimes, that's for sure - just remember that you don't always pick up your clothes, too!)
Either way, when I come I will probably be the messiest Baker ever!
Just remember - when you think it really stinks to have me in your tummy and you don't feel so good - we are so lucky to have ME and you are going to be the best mommy ever and all my smiles and farts will make it all worth it!

9 weeks of BB

Today is my birthday! i am 9 weeks old. how you like them apples? I don't really like apples, myself. They're too hard to chew for a youngster like me!

I mean come on! I have been really busy lately building my skelton and eyes and brain, and all I get is heat for not posting on the blog! Me and yolk sac have a lot going on here, you know!

Noises and scary

What was all that noise last night? It kept waking me up! The windows were so loud, and there was some banging next door. One thing's for sure, if that noise continues in November, there's going to be heck to pay! Make it stop!
Also, please don't call me smudge. I am BB. And it is hurtful when you think I am a smudge.
Also, often when I walk around the house I feel like I am being followed. Hunted, even. There's this gray thing that seems to know I'm here, and it's like he's got this ESP...it makes me uncomfortable.
I'm looking forward to getting some darkness and warmth this weekend in Florida! Yippee!

STOP STARING AT ME

I mean, gosh! Stop it already! Can't I just be allowed to build myself in peace? Plus, I'm naked and stuff. Granted, there's not much to see, but me and yolk sac sometimes just like to be left alone to chat about warmth and darkness. I know it's interesting and everything, but enough is enough. While many pundits prefer to call it "climate change", BB feels very strongly that global warming is a GOOD thing for all of us. Due to the warm, temperate climates in BB's current place of residence, BB feels that the warmer the world - the better the life! Why expose yourself to coldness? It's unpleasant and uncomfortable. In fact, BB has taken an extremely controversial tact on two other global issues - "global darkening" and "global wettening". BB is currently researching options to make the world a much darker, wetter place where everyone can bask in warm, dark, wet homes where they will remain undisturbed at all times. You sleep better, eat better and sleep better when you can exist in this sort of environment. BB feels that sometimes unpopular decisions (making the world warm, dark and wet could, in some circles, be regarded as controversial) that people may percieve as "scary" are actually the best decisions.
BB frankly doesn't really care if you agree or not, but if you DO agree, BB is all ears on how we can make this happen. So far, scientists have posed a number of radical solutions, but none that address all three of the needs - wetness, darkness and warmth.

BB anxiously awaits word on how we can make this happen. BB's timeline is to completely change the world and make this happen on or before mid-November.

BB's opinions on the primaries

BB believes that in the frontloaded primary season, anything goes but fundraising clout and building a strong brand will win out in the end. For dems, BB is partial to Obama and Clinton, but worries that men won't cotton to Clinton, no matter how many town-hall meetings she holds in the church basement. On Obama, BB is intrigued, but knows little beyond his electrifying address at the DNC....in terms of Edwards and his wife's recent admission of a cancer return, BB is perplexed..he just doesn't know how this news will impact the race. On the other side, BB feels that Giuliani has a strong record of performance and decisive action but ponders, will Southern conservatives vote for a man who danced in drag with the Rockettes? And, his messy personal life leaves BB more than a little ambiguous. And onto the GOP base, BB's thoughts on Old-Faithful--Senator McCain are sanguine, but BB is a little leery of his right wing loyalists. So that leaves ole Mitt, the ex-guv of the Nomah state, BB is not impressed, but then again, he's never been to Utah!

So those are BB's thoughts about politics in March, 2007. What will he think in a couple of month from now? Wouldn't you like to know.l
